2010-2011 Behavior Plan

The color change system will be used for the upcoming school year

 

The color chart is as follows

Color

Qualifications to achieve this color

Consequence

Gold

Only used for special circumstances

Gives students something to strive for above Green

Green

All students start here at the beginning of each day

 

Yellow

Student has violated a school/class rule/procedure/policy

Given after the verbal reminder of the expected behavior 

Blue

Student has violated 2 school/class rules/procedures/policies

Lunch Detention

Red

Student has violated 3 school/class rules/procedures/policies

Phone call home

Black

Automatic Violation

Out of School Suspension

 

Earning a color back

Students will be given at least one chance during the day to earn a color back (move back toward green).  This will be awarded at the teacher’s discretion but will be based on the student’s behavior after they have received a color change

 

Automatic Yellow Violations

The following list of rules have been deemed a color change to yellow

  • Not seating in seat correctly
  • Being off task
  • Not following rules
  • Not raising hand
  • Yelling
  • Being out of seat without permission
  • Talking
  • Throwing items
  • Unsigned papers
  • Dress code violations
  • Horse-playing
  • Writing or passing notes

 

Automatic Blue Violations

The following lists of rules have been deemed a color change to blue.

 

  • Throwing food
  • Electronic devices
  • Rude comments
  • Lying
  • Gum chewing
  • Two yellow violations

 

Automatic Red Violations

The following list of rules have been deemed severe enough that a student will be automatically turned to red and a phone call home

  • Arguing or rude comments to a staff member
  • Cheating
  • Swearing (General Comments)
  • Leaving an assigned area without permission
  • Physical Aggression

 

Automatic Black Violations

The following list of rules have been deemed severe enough that a student will be automatically given an Out of School Suspension

  • Fighting
  • Stealing
  • Destruction of School Property
  • Swearing at a Staff Member
  • Threats issued toward a Staff Member
  • Arson
  • Having a weapon in school—Possible expulsion
  • Accumulation of 3 red violations

 

Special Education

Any student given an In School Suspension or Out of School Suspension who has an I.E.P will be first reviewed by the administrative staff to determine whether or not their disability had any cause to their behavior or if a behavioral I.E.P. is needed or if changes to the current I.E.P. are needed.
