The Edge Academy is a community school that serves children living in Akron, OH. A community school is defined, as a public school that is separate from any other district, is run by an independent school board and is funded by state tax dollars. Community schools do not receive property tax revenues. Like all charter schools in Ohio The Edge is a non-pofit organization.

Teachers must be certified by the State of Ohio and work in teams to enhance the individual student learning.  The student to teacher ratio is 22:1
